About the Suite
Lucrezia, our most unusual suite, is named after the infamous member of the powerful Borgia family; the daughter of the future Pope Alexander VI. A highly educated and accomplished woman, Lucrezia reigned, in her own right, as the governor of Spoleto, a position usually held by cardinals. With three marriages arranged by her father to further political alliances, Lucrezia has been the subject of rumors, (never proven, and most spread by her family’s political rivals), books and operas.
Living up to her namesake, our suite Lucrezia, is dramatic for its burnt orange, gold and cream décor, for the first-floor bedroom that includes a king-size bed (or two singles) and a bistro table and chairs, and especially for its theatric bathroom — a basin and toilet on the bedroom level…then up a few stairs, the shower…and then on the third level, a footed bath. Views of the neighboring town and the borgo complete the scene.
